Strut Talk Runway Therapy is the inspired creation of Lolita Frazier, who transformed her deep personal loss into a shining light of hope. Following the devastating loss of her son, Jordan "LAYLO" Stith, on September 28, 2016, Lolita channeled her grief into building a platform that honors the departed while uplifting the living.
STRUT TALK the SHOW debuted on Sunday, June 3, 2018, against the mural-lined walls of the Lincoln Street Tunnel. As a tribute to Big Laylo's life and legacy, we also honored Beth McCamey-Harris, Tommy Brown, and Diamond Chambers.
Tragically, in 2019 and 2020, the Frazier family lost two more loved ones to gun violence.
In a case of intimate partner violence, Jocelyn Frazier, 26, was fatally shot in a Newport News parking lot. Her former partner was convicted of first-degree murder and sentenced to 53 years in prison. She is survived by her son.
Dylan Terrelle Edmunds, 20, was shot and killed inside his vehicle on a Saturday afternoon in Hampton, VA. We are still seeking justice for his tragic death. He is survived by his daughter.
A SUN FOR MY SUN debuted in December 2020 in tribute to Lolita Frazier's son, niece, and nephew — Jordan "LAYLO" Stith, Jocelyn "JAH-JAH" Frazier, and Dylan Edmunds.

This is not just a show. It’s a practice.
Each year, A SUN for MY SUN brings us together to strut with grief, memory, and resilience. This year’s theme — From Grief to Grace — honors the lastingness of grief and the grace it takes to keep living, loving, and moving forward while carrying what will always matter.
We created this show to hold space for lives lost too soon. For the mothers, parents, and loved ones still carrying that weight. For the communities that refuse to forget. This is not performance for applause. This is presence, remembrance, resistance, and healing in motion.
We strut for the sons who didn’t make it home.
We strut for the loved ones still learning how to carry the light.
We strut because grief changes shape, but love remains.
Proceeds support survivors of gun violence and the work of prevention, recovery, and advocacy. But more than that, this show makes space to feel, to witness, to remember, and to believe in joy again.
STRUT TALK the SHOW: A SUN for MY SUN is a four-hour soirée blending fashionable purpose + impowerment to celebrate our SUNS gone too soon, honor their loved ones who Strut Thru It, and raise funds to impower survivors of gun violence, champion gun sense advocacy, and advance domestic abuse and gun suicide prevention initiatives.
This milestone year, From Grief to Grace honors the truth that grief may change over time, but love, memory, and legacy remain.
