a sun for my sun

Strut Talk Runway Therapy is the inspired creation of Lolita Frazier, who transformed her deep personal loss into a shining light of hope. Following the devastating loss of her son, Jordan "LAYLO" Stith, on September 28, 2016, Lolita channeled her grief into building a platform that honors the departed while uplifting the living.

STRUT TALK the SHOW debuted on Sunday, June 3, 2018, against the mural-lined walls of the Lincoln Street Tunnel. As a tribute to Big Laylo's life and legacy, we also honored Beth McCamey-Harris, Tommy Brown, and Diamond Chambers.

Jordan and Lolita enjoy a moment of laughter sitting near a fireplace.

Tragically, in 2019 and 2020 the Frazier family lost two more loved ones to gun violence.

In a case of intimate partner violence, Jocelyn Frazier, 26, was fatally shot in a Newport News parking lot. Her former partner was convicted of first-degree murder and sentenced to 53 years in prison. She is survived by her son.

Dylan Terrelle Edmunds, 20, was shot and killed inside his vehicle on a Saturday afternoon in Hampton, VA. We are still seeking justice for his tragic death. He is survived by his daughter.

A SUN FOR MY SUN debuted in December 2020 in tribute to Lolita Frazier's son, niece, and nephew — Jordan "LAYLO" Stith, Jocelyn "JAH-JAH" Frazier, and Dylan Edmunds.

the Impowerment Fashion Experience + Fundraiser

STRUT TALK the SHOW: A SUN for MY SUN is a four-hour soirée blending fashionable purpose + impowerment to celebrate our SUNS gone too soon, honor their loved ones who Strut Thru It, and raise funds to impower survivors of gun violence, champion gun sense advocacy, and advance domestic abuse and gun suicide prevention initiatives.

WHY YOUR SUPPORT MATTERS

Every day, 100 Americans lose their lives to gun violence.

Every day, 100 Americans lose their lives to gun violence. Every year, 3 million children and teens are exposed to gun violence, 21,000 are shot and killed or wounded, 20,000 men lost to gun suicide, AND hundreds of women are shot and killed IN domestic abuse acts.

Sanaa Amenhotep

Sanaa Amenhotep was tragically abducted, beaten, shot, and killed by her peers at the age of 15.

“ When homes, neighborhoods, and schools are not safe from gun violence, entire generations of American children are affected.”

Why Does Your Support Matter? Your support matters because…

Gun violence hurts US all.

Through A SUN for MY SUN, we aim to raise funds to serve, support, and share love to impower survivors of gun violence, domestic abuse, and suicide.

Strut Talk the Show:  A SUN for MY SUN is a crucial funder of Strut Talk Runway Therapy's solutions + initiatives. These funds are essential for continuing our mission to impower the world to Strut Thru It to make a real difference in the lives of those affected by senseless gun violence, domestic abuse, and gun suicide.
