Lolita Frazier is our lead runway trainer and confidence coach. From clinching her first victory with her distinctive Loco strut, she dedicated herself to the runway world, both modeling and mentoring. For the decade following, she would develop and grow her Loco Strut Runway brand. And on September 9, 2016, she got her biggest win. A daring collaboration with luxury robe designer, Jo Battle, got the duo‘s BattleStrut street runway a mention on Essence website‘s weekly style recap segment. However, even amidst these successes, life presented unforeseen challenges.
On September 28, 2016, her youngest child, Jordan Laylo Stith, was murdered by a hurt person in an act of gun violence. He was 21 years old. Motivated by this immense loss, Lolita organized memorials and championed justice. Despite an early arrest, a lack of evidence resulted in the suspect's release. For a year, she walked in pain. She was stuck. And she found herself with a choice to make: Would she walk in the pain of grief or strut through it?
She chose to S.T.R.U.T. Thru It! She found strength in sharing Jordan's story. On September 16, 2017, she held the first Strut Talk session with a group of her model mentees. Since that first session, Strut Talk has grown into a platform to impower hurt people, showing them the power of posture as the first step in a new direction.
Strut Talk Runway Therapy became a recognized 501(c)3 nonprofit in November 2020.
